Carl “Papa” Palmer of Old Mill Road in Ridgeway, Virginia, now lives in University Place, Washington. He is retired from the military and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and is enjoying life as “Papa”to his grand descendants. Carl is also a Franciscan Hospice volunteer and former Pushcart Prize and Micro Award nominee. Beck Banks is a doctoral candidate in Media Studies at the University of Oregon. Their primary research interest is transgender rurality and transgender media studies. They hope to be more than this, though, which is why an occasional poem or piece of fiction ravels out of them.
John Niebuhr is a master gardener, lyricist, and a creative writing instructor at Burbank Adult School. His poetry has appeared in The Skinned Knee Collective, but he is best known for creating HikeWrite for the Denton Songwriters Guild. He writes lyrics for both independent and published artists, and is currently working on a concept album in Los Angeles.
