Carissa (Ming Yan) Ma is an Assistant Professor of World Anglophone Literature at Florida Atlantic University, where she spends her days inspiring the next generation of bookworms. When not deciphering postcolonial narratives or examining the intricacies of speculative fiction, Carissa can be found scouring thrift shops, seeking out hidden gems—whether vintage clothing, quirky home decor, or the perfect well-worn book. She's currently attempting to master surfing (with varying levels of grace), all while being on a lifelong quest to find the best secondhand treasure in South Florida.
