Mark DeCarteret was born in Lowell, Massachusetts. On “The Road Ride” at the Jack Kerouac Theme Park. And studied with Sam Cornish, Bill Knott, Charles Simic, Tom Lux, Mekeel McBridge, and Franz Wright. He’s worked a third of his life in bookstores. Going on 15 years at Water Street in Exeter. And hosted and organized two reading series. Co-edited an anthology of NH poets. He was Poet Laureate of Portsmouth NH. Twice, a finalist for NH Poet Laureate. Mark DeCarteret’s poems have appeared in 500 magazines including AGNI, American Poetry Review, Boston Review, Caliban, Chicago Review, Conduit, Exquisite Corpse, Fence, and Plume. As well as 30 anthologies. Among them, American Poetry: The Next Generation (Carnegie Mellon Press), and Thus Spake the Corpse: An Exquisite Corpse Reader 1988-1998 (Black Sparrow Press). He performs with the Dadaist troupe Carteret Voltaire. And plays drums and sings with Codpiece.

Mallory is a recovering English major now working as a licensed social worker in Philly. Her short fiction has previously been published in the Chicago Review of Books' online magazine, Arcturus. Mallory mostly exists off-line and can be found picnicking, reading every poster pinned to the lampposts, or trying her hand at the impossible art of watercolor.

Luisa Barron is originally from Houston, Texas, but now makes her home in the Upper Peninsula, where she recently graduated with her MFA from Northern Michigan University. Her work has won the fiction prize from The Madison Review, been published in various other journals, nominated for a Pushcart Prize, and supported by the Tin House Summer Workshop and Kenyon Review Writers Workshop. She is mother of two senior cats, Theo and Frankie, who are both her alarm clock and reason to live.
