Atomic Man by Malik Berry

image of graphing paper with a piece of flash fiction over it surrounded by colored illustrations of atoms. The piece reads: I have shrunk myself to the size of an atom. I no longer see creatures or people or objects. Just the atoms that form them. When I was larger and fully formed, I could make everything and everyone out the way anyone else would, but too many of them in one place, and I only saw the shapes that formed them. I only heard the noises they made, more deafening by the second. Their faces started to blur, and their bodies pushed closer together, coagulating my space, clogging every escape. I've shrunk myself to the size of an atom, and now I can only see the atoms of everything else. The space is more closed in, and the noise is inescapable. No matter what I try, I can't escape being surrounded.
